Description

β-Elemene is a volatile sesquiterpene natural product found in essential oils of several plants, notably Curcuma aromatica. It features a sweet, tulip-like aroma, useful in fragrance and flavor compositions as a distinctive aromatic ingredient. In biomedical research, β-Elemene has been studied for anti-cancer effects, including induction of apoptosis and modulation of cell cycle pathways.
