Description

Cinmethylin (CAS 87818‑31‑3) is an agricultural herbicide primarily used as a pre‑emergence grass control agent. It belongs to a class of bicyclic ether compounds structurally related to cineole derivatives. Developed in the early 1980s, it is effective against key grass weeds such as green foxtail and barnyardgrass in crops like rice and cotton. Cinmethylin has relatively low environmental persistence and mammalian toxicity compared to some herbicides. It is also supplied as an analytical reference standard for research and testing purposes.
