Description

Guaiol is a naturally occurring sesquiterpene alcohol found in guaiac wood oil and various plant essential oils. It appears as a white to off-white crystalline solid with a woody, mild guaiacwood/tea rose fragrance that provides depth and character in woody, leather, and warm fragrance accords. Guaiol is used in perfumery to enhance woody and balsamic notes and to add complexity to compositions. It is also of interest in natural products research and some bioactivity studies.
